Carnia is located in the northern part of Friuli Venezia Giulia, near the border with Austria. This region features Roman archaeological remains, quaint rural villages and is surrounded by the legendary Zoncolan where cycling history has been made. The Giro d’Italia battles still echo the cheers of the “Tifosi”, so come join us to hear these cheers for yourself.
Your Cycling Week
You will stay at HOTEL APLIS OVARO, at the footstep of the infamous Zoncolan climb from where you will enjoy six guided rides specially designed to give you a 360-degree experience of the territory. Daily rides will vary in length and elevation with time allotted each day to stop along the way and learn about the history and traditions of the region. Spectacular views will be the backdrop of every ride and you can be guaranteed smooth silky pavement and zero traffic. The highlight of the week will be the opportunity to ride the Zoncolan where you will hear the legends of the past cheering you to the top.
Each day you will taste the traditional local food, wine and craft beer of the local breweries. After a long day in the saddle, you can recover at the Wellness Center at the hotel or stroll in the outdoor park with its two lakes, the animal park and the sawmill museums to learn about the mountain traditional life.
